Thanks to the capstone students of NAIT in the Design Media & IT (DMIT) program, the Aquatic Biosphere site is getting an overhaul.
Over the course of four terms, four different teams added their ideas, expertise and creativity to reimagine the website. Take a look at it here: AquaticBiosphereProject.ca and leave your comments on what you like about it and what you think is missing that still needs to be added.
The students created the site from the bottom up, designing the feel, structure, presentation and organisation of the site. They developed a site with a rich administrative backend with complex roles, added a fully enabled booking system, built an internal events management and volunteer scheduling system. The site is CMS enabled in many places and has a robust blog section built out. It has been a large undertaking for four separate teams and each team brought different aspects and ideas to bring the site to where it is today.
Thank you to NAIT and its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program that brings community organisations like the Aquatic Biosphere with real world problems together with students for practical experiences as part of the their graduation credentials. It creates incredible possibilities and we know the students we've worked with will be valued employees and entrepreneurs.
